What is Going on?

If you are one of the few people who visit this blog, you may be wondering, what’s up with Amy, Tom, Stella, Alice and Frank? Well, we bought an Airstream (took 18 months to come in), picked it up in March, put Anomaly in storage and headed out for three months of land travel.

That first adventure gave us 100 nights in the travel trailer, and took us from New Jersey to Florida and back, across North Carolina from the coast to the mountains, and then in the mountains of VA before returning to Anomaly. By the time we came back “home” we had rediscovered our love for hiking, the mountains and camping – although we are definitely glamping.

We spent a few weeks on Anomaly then headed north up the Chesapeake Bay, where we promptly encountered several weeks of challenging weather, and found we missed the land travel. We had already been talking about possibly selling Anomaly, so we put that plan in motion, sold her the day she listed and closed two weeks later. We’re now actively traveling by Airstream (affectionally named Dusty-Lucille).

As of late September we’ve been on the road for a total of 146 nights, staying in a combination of state and national parks, Corps of Engineers campgrounds, harvest hosts, a few private rv parks and two Hipcamp sites (not really our jam). We’ve towed for 6,800 miles, 12% of our stays have been at Harvest Host sites, and we have dry camped (no electric, water or sewer) 23% of the time, including Harvest Host stays. We’ve stayed in 12 states with many more to go!
